Fit for a Queen

Here is another box I did quickly as another design study. The body of the box is roughly 2.5” x 2.5” so it is a fairly small box. The final shape once again dictated the name. I thought it had the look of a royal carriage. The body has a maple stripe and a paduak plug inlaid into it. At the time I did not have a lathe so the I had purchased a bunch of chrome spikes that I used in a couple of designs. I believed the touch of chrome worked well in the design.

Lid – Purpleheart
Legs – Bolivian Rosewood and Curly maple
Body -Leopardwood, Curly Maple and Paduak
